A cyclical imbalance in metabolic systems
Many AS individuals experience a cyclical imbalance in their metabolic systems. The thyroid, immune system, digestive system, neuronal system and hormonal system are in a constant state of disorder, leading to DTTS.
Among the consequences, a disturbed distribution of the following is observed:
● Serotonin
● Noradrenaline
● Adrenaline
● Inhibitors (such as GABA)
● Dopamine (which regulates, among other things, emotion, stress responses, sleep and appetite)
● Melatonin (involved in sleep and the immune system)
● Cytokines in the digestive system
● Cortisol (the stress hormone, which regulates blood sugar levels and also dampens strong sensory reactions)
