30. Logorrhoea

Logorrhoea, a river of words, is linked to the AS person's obsessive character (the ADHD part): the desire to communicate current passions can be overwhelming. Over time, the AS person learns to channel their energies, but sharing passions remains.

In Breton, the term ‘Téodeg’ describes someone who speaks at length, covering a multitude of subjects in a continuous flow of words. By contrast, the AS person is characterised by concentrating on a specific theme. Of course, AS Téodegs also exist, because the mind, both branching and associative, moves from one subject to another with the liveliness of jumping from one paving stone to another, or through the countless branches of a tree. Many AS people are diagnosed with ADHD.

‘Being present with someone is a true gift.’ The gift of attention may be the most precious and most envied of all, even if we do not always realise it. Words of Piero Ferrucci
