10. Cognitive disorders (failure to register perception, memorisation, reasoning, emotions: physiological/neurological origin)

Cognitive processes comprise all the mental mechanisms that allow an individual to receive, process, store and use information or knowledge.

A cognitive disorder is characterised by a set of symptoms—including difficulties with memory and perception—that prevent the AS from coming forward and acting appropriately at the right moment.

In the case of DTTS disorders, cognitive functioning is present, but it does not activate normally. One must be an attentive observer to identify triggers and cognitive reactions in the AS.

“You have to be AS to truly perceive all the AS's subtle cognitive processes.”
