Certain factors slow down rapid information processing in the AS. Other processes, by contrast, are accelerated in areas of obsession and passion—whether sport, mathematics, science, cooking, music, choreography or many other fields.

“But where is this disability, this disorder?” The answer is right next door: it is the professor syndrome. He excels in the area of his professional predilection, but proves incapable of managing the ordinary aspects of everyday life.
