14. Motor anticipation deficit (volition)

Motor anticipation is the fundamental aspect of volition, that is, the ability to mobilise one's will to carry out movements. At times, I compare the AS to an astronaut on the Moon or another planet who has to remotely command a specific gesture to operate the robotic arm of their suit, and whose gesture does not work. It is not simply an isolated, faulty circuit, but a complex set of connectors, receptors and commands (hormones) that fail to activate.

The therapeutic protocol rests on “a great deal of patience” and the use of neurodevelopmental and primitive movements intended to stimulate the neuronal system.
