Loneliness

Loneliness is deeply felt by the AS person: the one who thinks differently, perceives the world differently, whose sharpened awareness unintentionally deciphers the hidden traits of others, and who moves through a bewildering universe. It accompanies the person concerned every day. The ‘abandoned’ person repeatedly denies themselves, leaving complex relationships and situations behind, and finds themselves isolated and alone.

Loneliness also means facing a task, job or mission alone that overwhelms and causes anxiety day after day. It is impossible to speak to anyone about it: there is neither an attentive ear nor warm support. We feel abandoned, isolated, a stranger rejected by the world.

I saw my brother sink into this state: abandoned by our parents, he became addicted to drugs and gradually shut himself away in his loneliness.

One of psychiatry's objectives is to discover the story hidden behind each individual. Why have they reached this point? How can the balance between psyche and biochemistry be restored? Medication is only a short-term crutch: true behavioural change requires sustained commitment and time, at least three months, often much longer.

Restructuring the psychic ‘vehicle’ takes place on several levels to rediscover:

● inner beauty,

● flexibility,

● a sense of security,

● the ability to bounce back.
