ASC, an altered state of consciousness

Trance is an ASC: the brain then comes under the dominance of the more intuitive right side, while the frontal cortex is slightly inhibited. In this state, the AS brain (sustained attention) can spontaneously enter a trance, leading to maximum involvement in the activity at hand. It simplifies the processes of synthesis and conclusion and, as Corinne Sombrun points out, accelerates its own functioning. Anxiety, rumination and mental calculations are set aside; the brain becomes a rocket heading straight for its target.

Before entering this altered state of consciousness, it is important to formulate our questions, intentions and goals clearly. Natural trance is a remarkably effective tool for AS: it stimulates creativity, refines social understanding and even scientific research through direct observation on different planes of existence. Accessible in broad daylight, provided we have a calm environment, this state can be facilitated by music, listening to rhythms or observing nature.

To access it, we begin by creating an inner place of tranquillity in our consciousness, marked by our personal reference points. This inner point of reference gives us a sense of security, a space where we can fully be ourselves and be happy. Ultimately, trance guides us towards our deep truth, brings our soul closer and helps us accomplish what we have to do harmoniously.
